Griffith and Gurney

Gary and Pam Gurney, Lawrence, along with Linda Griffith, Basehor, announce the engagement of their children, Kristin Gurney and Roger Griffith II, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Washburn University in 2004. She is a registered nurse in the emergency room at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
The future groom is also the son of Roger Griffith, Overland Park. He is a 1996 graduate of Basehor-Linwood High School. He is employed with UPS in Lenexa.
The couple plan an Oct. 4, 2008, wedding at Danforth Chapel at Kansas University.


Graveman and Mukerji

Laura Graveman and Ridhwi Mukerji, both of Tonganoxie, announce their engagement and upcoming nuptials.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of William and Kathleen Graveman, St. Charles. She graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 2004 and Emporia State University in December 2008. She is a student teacher at Basehor-Linwood High School.
The prospective groom is the son of Tapan and Amita Mukerji, Calcutta, India. He is a 2000 graduate of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Education and a 2006 graduate of Manipal College of Medical Sciences. He is a doctor.
The couple plan a Dec. 20, 2008, wedding at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lawrence.



Luther and Mary Myrick, Bonner Springs, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a family picnic later this month in Basehor.
Luther Myrick and Mary Richardson were married Aug. 11, 1938, in Topeka.
Luther served in the National Guard and is now retired from his over-the-road driving job with Otto Transport. Mary is retired from Venture.
The two are parents to seven children - Charles, Beverly. James. Gwendolyn, Edna, Carol and Jackie. They also have 19 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
