Pastors Norman L. and Ann Brooks of Basehor will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple was married Feb. 11, 1960, in Kansas City, Kan. Norman and Ann met at Victoria Tabernacle through the Christ Ambassador’s Youth Group. Their desire for ministry led them to Pastor Victory Assembly of God in Bonner Springs.
Their family includes a son, Norman Tracy Brooks, and his wife, Vickie, of Bonner Springs, and daughter, Shelly Workman, and husband, Charles, of Shawnee. The Brookses have been blessed with six grandchildren.
A May celebration is planned.
Haworth and Guidry
Robert and Paula Haworth, of Salina, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Haworth, to Parker Guidry, son of Claude II and Sandy Guidry, of Linwood.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Lee and Louise Haworth, of Salina, and Isadore and Ruth Bombardier, of Concordia.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Claude Guidry and Virginia Guidry, of Port Barre, La., and Bob and Judy Null, of Overland Park.
Sara is a Salina South High School graduate, and will graduate from Kansas University with a doctorate of pharmacy degree in May.
Following graduation, she will work for CVS/Pharmacy in the Kansas City area.
Parker is a Basehor-Linwood High School graduate, and graduated from the Kansas University with a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary English education.
He is currently a math teacher/ consultant at Argentine Middle School in Kansas City, Kan.
Coming in May, he will graduate with a master’s in education leadership and policy studies from KU.
The wedding is planned for June 18, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Lawrence.
