Mr. and Mrs. Olin Holt had a birthday dinner in honor of their granddaughter, Jennifer Doebbling, on Feb. 18. Jennifer is 23 and the daughter of Linda and Fred Deobbling. Other guests were the Doebblings and John Watson. Many happy returns, Jennifer!

Mr. Dan Ganaden of Raytown, Mo., Daniel Ganaden and girlfriend, and Krica Ganaden and boyfriend, all of Leavenworth, were visitors at the home of Dorothy Kincaid Feb. 17. Dan is a grandson, and Daniel and Erica are great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Olin Holt attended a meeting of the 'Shriners Potentate Ball' committee on Feb. 21 and then lunched at Popeye's in Missouri. In the afternoon, they attended the R.V. show at Bartle Hall with friends.

Monticello United Methodist Women will be hostesses to a Mission Study on "Children of Africa" led by Rachel Backenberg on March 3. The cost is seven dollars per person, which includes lunch. To register, call Bertha Cameron at 441-2871 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. The event will take place at the Monticello United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Mrs. Maxine Renner spent two days in Shawnee Medical Center undergoing tests the weekend of Feb. 18. She is back home and doing fine.

Mrs. Ruth Lynn along with John and Travis Lynn dined at Hayward's Barbecue in Overland Park on Feb. 18.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Rabenau of Kansas City, Kan., brought dinner to Dorothy Kincaid Feb. 18 and stayed to play Scrabble.

Monticello United Methodist Women's needlecraft group met at the hall on Feb. 21 to chat and quilt. Joining for the day were Bertha Cameron, Jean Hodson, Dorothy Kincaid, Betty Hunter, Virginia Broom, Shirley Nichols, Grace Reynolds, Ruth Lynn, Waverly Williams, Sandy Taylor, Myrtle Thomas and Shirley Lucas. Jim Reynolds, Jay Nichols and Art Howell joined us for lunch.

Mr. and Mrs. Sid Peacocke and Mrs. Dorothy Woolf of Bonner Springs enjoyed a drive to Powell Gardens near Lone Jack, Mo., recently. The group lunched at the Periwinkle Tea Room in Lone Jack.

Mrs. Johnnie Kueker, Mrs. Camille Lynn and Mrs. Doris Katherman were all on the sick list the week of Feb. 18 with flu and respiratory problems. All are doing better now.

Mrs. Teresa Lynn has returned from a nine-day visit with her aunt in Phoenix, Ariz. Happy to be home!

Monticello 3M pinochle club met at the home of Mrs. Dorothy Barth on Feb. 15. Guests were Ruth Lynn, Waverly Williams, Doris Katherman, Dorothy Kincaid and Shirley Lucas. Dorothy Kincaid took high prize and Shirley got low.

Sara Hipsher, Ben Hipsher and Jack Hensley of DeSoto were dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Betty Hunter on Feb. 19.

Ryan Peacocke of Topeka, the two-year-old grandchild of Sid and Carolyn Peacocke, was a recent overnight guest at his grandparent's home.
