Across the river
Mrs. Ruth Lynn and Mrs. Lynda Anderson of Drexal, Mo., attended the Present and Past Presidents' of Greater Kansas City luncheon and card party on April 27. It was held at the Soroptimist Center in Mission.
Mrs. Shirley Nichols and Mrs. Carolyn Peacocke attended the "Taste of Home Magazine" cooking schools in Topeka on April 26.
The Monticello United Methodist Church had an all-church potluck dinner after services on April 29. About 50 people attended. An all-church conference followed dinner with about 40 persons attending. It was a rewarding meeting.
Mrs. Amanda Bivens was a visitor at the home of Mrs. Johnnie Lee Kueker on April 30. They ate lunch at Old Country Buffet in Shawnee. Maureen Woolever had a birthday on April 30 and was treated to lunch at Panzon's in Lenexa on May 2 by Dee Hetlinger.
Mrs. Shirley Lucas and Mrs. Mary Marbel of Shawnee spent several days in Eureka Springs the week of April 29 just checking out the flora and fauna and visiting several people.
Mrs. Johnnie Lee Kueker visited Mrs. Helen McNatt at Sterling House in Olathe on May 1.
The Monticello United Methodist Women needlecraft group met at the Fellowship Hall May 2. Joining for the day were Jean Hodson, Betty Hunter, Ruth Lynn, Waverly Williams, Dorothy Kincaid, Lula James, Doris Katherman, Camille Lynn, Isabel Golden, Maxine Renner, Flossa Barney, Shirley Nichols and Johnnie Lee Kueker. Doris Housh, Jim Reynolds and Jay Nichols joined us for lunch. We quilted, folded bulletins and worked on a mailing. A Mary/Martha Circle meeting was held after lunch, with 12 ladies attending. Camille Lynn gave a book report for the program.
Mrs. Johnnie Lee Kueker, Mrs. Camille Lynn, Mrs. Betty Hunter, Mrs. Flossa Barney, Mrs. Ruth Lynn, Mrs. Grace Reynolds, Mrs. Isabel Golden, Mrs. Maxine Renner and Amanda Bivens were guests at a luncheon at the Salvation Army Family Center in Olathe on May 5.
The estate sale of Mrs. Mildred Lynn of Monticello was the order of the day on April 28. The Monticello U.M.W. unit catered the lunch, which involved at least a dozen unit ladies. It was a very busy day.
Mrs. Betty Hunter was a dinner guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Hunter Jr. in Lawrence on April 29.
Jim and Dorothy Trager of Burlington, were visitors at the home of Ruth Lynn on April 30. Then they all drove to visit Mr. and Mrs. David Anderson Sr., near Drexal, Mo., for the day.
