KCK resident wins lottery prize

First-time lottery player Steven Cox of Kansas City, Kan., found beginner's luck on his side earlier this month.
He purchase five tickets in the $2 Chips & Salsa game on Aug. 8 and won a $10,000 top prize on the third ticket he played.
"I wasn't even sure if I'd won until the store clerk checked my ticket. I screamed and hollered when I realized I'd won $10,000," he said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Woods Mini Mart 46, located at 11500 Parallel Ave.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
