Parks Department offers two new classes
August 28, 2008
Beginning Sept. 4, the Bonner Springs Parks and Recreation Department will offer two new classes: a basic dog obedience class and a belly dancing class.
The dog obedience class, 6:30 p.m. Thursdays in the Community Center's Multi-Purpose Room, 200 E. Third St., will teach basic commands and cover problem-solving. The instructor, Kim Downing, is a member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers, The German Shepherd Dog Club of America and is an approved AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. The fee is $80 per session. This class is limited to seven dogs.
The belly-dancing class is designed to provide a total body workout, to raise heart rates, burn fat and tone muscles. There will be three different sections offered on Thursdays, with six meetings per section. Classes begin 7:30 p.m. Sept 4, and the fees are $50 for the first two sections and $30 for the third section. Wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement.
For more information on these classes or to register, call (913) 422-3404 or drop by the Community Center.
The registration deadline for both classes is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3.
