Friends of the Bonner Springs Library sponsors an art contest

The Friends of the Bonner Springs Library is sponsoring a contest for the design of a stained-glass window for the new library. The window will be permanently displayed in the new Bonner Springs City Library's Kansas Room , which will house the Kansas genealogy and local history collections. The library, at the site of the former Sacred Heart School at the corner of Nettleton and Insley, is scheduled to be completed in spring 2009.
Following are the requirements for the contest:
¢ Contestants must be in seventh grade or older.
¢ Entries must contain artwork that can be replicated on a stained glass window no larger that 5.5 ft vertically and 2.9 ft horizontally.
¢ Entries must have a Kansas history theme.
Entries must be received at the Bonner Springs Library, 200 E. Third St. by 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15. The Bonner Springs City Library is located at 200 E. Third Street, Bonner Springs, KS 66012. The name of the winner will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed by the window.
