Club donates teddy bears to police

Bonner Springs — Teddy bears decorated the mantel of The David House on Feb. 5 for the New Century Club Valentine Luncheon, hosted by Kim Beets and Cheryl Coleman.
Members donated the bears to the Bonner Springs Police Department to be given to children in traumatic situations. New Century Club member Brenda Byers presented the bears to the police department.
Leesa Keesee, club president, conducted the business meeting regarding the progress of sales of note cards featuring artwork by students in the Bonner Springs-Edwardsville and Basehor-Linwood school districts. The cards may be purchased at the following locations: Magnum Opus, Pink Zebra, Totally Posh. Uptown Image Salon and Jet Fuel Coffee Shop. Proceeds will be used for school arts grants and college arts scholarships.
The next meeting will be March 4 at the home of Dayna Ellington with Sue Bishop as co-host.
