3 BSHS soccer players honored
June 5, 2008
The Bonner Springs High School girls soccer program still is in its infant stages, and the team's two victories this season are an indication of that.
The Bravettes are showing signs of progress, however, and that is evident in their growing talent pool. A few of those players recently were recognized by the league's coaches as All-Kaw Valley League selections.
Forward Alyssa Kelly and defender Amber Barnes earned second-team honors, and defender Krystal Stanton earned honorable mention status for her performance.
Kelly, a senior and the Bravettes' leading scorer, will play college soccer in the fall at Baker University in Baldwin, Kan. Stanton and Barnes both will return and give the Bravettes an experienced core to build around.
