City Band announces summer concert series

The Bonner Springs City Band has announced its schedule of concerts for the summer season. As in past years, the concerts will start at 8:30 p.m. and be in Kelly Murphy Park. All concerts will include an ice cream social conducted by local organizations.
The band will have its first rehearsal at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at Bonner Springs High School. Anyone interested in additional information should contact Larry Berg, director, at 422-7996.
The schedule follows:
Thursday, June 12: concert at 8:30 p.m., ice cream social by Edwardsville United Methodist Church.
Thursday, June 19: concert at 8:30 p.m., ice cream social by Bonner Springs BPW.
Saturday, June 28: concert at 8:30 p.m. as part of Bonner Blast and followed by fireworks; ice cream social by the Bonner Springs Swim Club.
Thursday, July 3: concert at 8:30 p.m., ice cream social by First Christian Church of Bonner Springs.
Thursday, July 10: concert at 8:30 p.m., ice cream social by VFW Auxiliary.
Thursday, July 17: concert at 8:30 p.m., ice cream social by Vaughn-Trent Community Services.
Thursday, July 24: concert at 8:30 p.m., ice cream social by Emmaus Lutheran Church.
Thursday, July 31: concert at 8:30 p.m., ice cream social by Bonner Springs Senior Citizens.
Friday, Aug. 22: concert at 8 p.m. as part of Tiblow Days celebration; ice cream social by Emmaus Lutheran Church.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
