Club celebrates garden week

The Bonner Springs and Santa Fe Trail Garden Clubs held a Near Club Standard Flower Show at the Community Center on May 20.
Winners of the top awards were: Darrell Donahue, Horticultural Excellence, Donna Schif, Design Excellence and Donna Schneck, Educational Exhibit.
The Bonner Springs Garden Club was honored by the National Garden Clubs with a Top National Award for last year's flower show.
The club will be celebrating National Garden Club week from June 2-7 with a library window, flower show and mayor's proclamation.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
