Bonner to begin curbside recycling

Deffenbaugh Disposal will begin residential curbside recycling in Bonner Springs the week of June 23.
Residents can use their voucher or proof of address to pick up free recycling bins though June 14 at the Community Center, 200 E. Third St. Bins may be picked up from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. A brochure about the curbside recycling program will be included with each bin. The cost for recycling is project to add less than $3 to trash pickup fees.
The recycling center at the Public Works Department, 12401 Kaw Dr., will remain open only on weekdays after curbside recycling begins. All types of recyclable materials are accepted 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at the drop-off.
