Bonner Springs’ new comprehensive land-use plan is on the way to City Hall for approval.
At its Feb. 27 meeting, the city’s Planning Commission recommended adoption of the “Vision 2025” plan, which has been in the works for about a year. The plan is not legally binding but rather a tool for guiding future development in the city.

All ramps at the interchange of Kansas Highway 7 and U.S. Highway 24-40 in Wyandotte County will close at 8:30 a.m. today so that construction can begin on a new interchange.

A game of evenly seeded and evenly matched teams went down to the wire Wednesday night in Salina during the first round of the 2008 Kansas State 4A Tournament. Fifth-seeded Holton was able to avenge its only loss of the season to beat fourth-seeded Basehor-Linwood 55-51. The Wildcats would need flawless crunch time free throw shooting to pull it off.

The Bonner Springs High School powerlifting team won the Kansas Heavy Metal Open in Hoisington, Kan., on Saturday. The victory gave the team its second win of the year. The Braves also won the Kentucky Bluegrass Open earlier this season.

Some of the strongest teenage weightlifters in Kansas go to school at Basehor-Linwood High School.
The Basehor-Linwood girls powerlifting team won the Class 4A State title and finished the season with an undefeated record in five meets.
The boys team lost to Russell High by four points.
