Slogan contest for Edwardsville launched
March 12, 2008
The City of Edwardsville is looking for a few good words.
City Council member Chuck Adams announced Monday that one of his pet projects, a city slogan contest, will be conducted March 25-April 18.
Prizes for a slogan with a maximum of eight words that "captures the spirit of the people of Edwardsville and our unique position in the Kansas City metropolitan area" will be awarded in two age divisions, 12 and under and 13 and over. First through third prizes will be awarded.
Children in the local schools will receive entry blanks when they return after spring break, and copies also will be available at City Hall.
A panel of city officials, townspeople and business leaders will judge the entries. The winner will be announced at the April 28 City Council meeting.
