Services for Von Harvey Storey, 80, of Bonner Springs, were Wednesday, March 26, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Burial was in the Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Storey died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Feb. 27, 1928, in Mountain View, Ark., and moved to this area in the 1950s after serving in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Storey was a member of the Steel Workers Union, working for Griffin Wheel Co. in Kansas City, Kan., for 28 years. He also had worked for the Wal-Mart in Bonner Springs for 14 years.
A son, David, died in 1980.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pansy Storey, of the home; two sons, Rick, Oak Grove, Mo., and Tim, Bonner Springs; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, James, Mountain View, Ark., Lyndell, Batesville, Ark., and Wenith, Jonesboro, Ark.; and a sister, Wanda Kelley, Hot Springs, Ark.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
