Head Start students to learn bike safety

A Bonner Springs teen has organized a bike safety event for local Head Start School students.
Lynnea Davis, 15, worked with the staff at Bonner Springs Head Start to create a Bike Night for students and their parents on Thursday, May 1. The students will learn about the importance of wearing bike helmets and bike safety.
Davis obtained a "Choosing to Matter Grant" from the Julie Foudy Leadership Foundation to help provide bike helmets to all 68 students in the Head Start program. Davis attended the Julie Foudy Leadership Academy, a soccer and leadership camp.
In case of rain or threatening weather, the event will not take place.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
