Bonner to begin curbside recycling

Deffenbaugh Disposal will begin residential curbside recycling in Bonner Springs the week of June 23.
Vouchers for a free recycling bin will be mailed out this week to all residential customers, which are good for a free recycling bin June 2-14 at the Community Center, 200 E. Third St. Bins may be picked up from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. A brochure about the curbside recycling program will be included with each bin.
The recycling center at the Public Works Department, 12401 Kaw Drive, will remain open after curbside recycling begins. All types of recyclable materials are accepted 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the drop-off, including clear and brown glass, which will not be picked up curbside. The center will be open 9 a.m. to noon for one more Saturday and after that will no longer offer weekend drop-off hours.

“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
