The much anticipated and long-awaited Election Day is here and polling sites across Bonner Springs have already seen a large amount of voters.

Poll workers at the Bonner Springs Community Center polling site said that, so far, no problems have come up. The process is running smoothly and efficiently they touted.

At 7 a.m. both the community center and the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church polling sites had long lines of voters waiting their turn. Workers said they prepared for the rush of pre-work voters and are expecting another rush of post-work voters.

At 11 a.m., the community center had three to four voters coming in and out, and workers were able to manage a quick lunch.

At 12:30 p.m., at the Methodist Church, two voters stood behind the privacy stand and cast their votes.

Polls will be open until 7 p.m.

Bonner Springs has five polling sites, which includes the community center, 200 E. Third, for Ward 1 voters; South Park, 246 Shadyside, for Ward 2 voters; the Methodist Church, 425 W. Morse Ave., for Ward 3 voters; Emmaus Lutheran Church, 12900 Kansas Ave., for Ward 4 Precinct 1 voters; and Lake of the Forest Clubhouse, for Ward 4 Precinct 2 voters.
