Bonner Springs girls to conduct Midnight Madness
November 13, 2008
The Bonner Springs High School girls basketball program and coach Clay Oakes will open the season bright — or dark — and early Monday morning.
The Kansas State High School Activities Association allows schools to begin winter practices on Monday, Nov. 17, and the Bravettes will waste no time getting started. At 12:01 a.m. Monday morning they will conduct Midnight Madness to kick off the 2008-2009 season.
The festivities actually will begin a few hours earlier.
At 8 p.m. a pot luck dinner will be held for players and their families at the high school. Dinner will be followed by family movie night
The inaugural practice will tip off just after midnight in the YMCA building. All community members and Bonner Springs students are invited to attend.
Admission to the event will be free, but fans are asked to bring $5 worth of nonperishable food items that will be donated to Harvesters.
