Knights of Colombus to raise funds

The Knights of Columbus council at Holy Angels Church is organizing its annual Tootsie Roll Drive, which is slated for this weekend.
Members of the organization will be standing in front of area businesses wearing bright, yellow vests to collect donations to help people with intellectual disabilities.
The stands, giving candy for donations of any size, will be operated by Knights members from 4-8 p.m. Friday, all day Saturday and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Price Chopper, 501 Commercial Drive, Bonner Springs; Wal-Mart, 12801 Kansas Ave., Bonner Springs; Thriftway, 112 Oak St., Bonner Springs; and Kelly’s Bar and Grill, 15540 State Ave., Basehor.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
