Q: What shows and entertainment can people expect from Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone this season?

A: (This year) will see the return of some great events, such as Red, White and Boom, OAR, Mayhem (and) the Dream Concert. (Sandstone will also have) a first time visit from The Killers.

Q: What sets Sandstone apart from other venues in the area?

A: Our capacity makes us the largest permanent concert venue in the greater Kansas City area. We have three different areas within the venue for fans to choose your best view location, with the large standing room area, two different levels of permanent seating or the capability of sitting on our spacious lawn area.

Q: Last year Sandstone was honored with a Best of Bonner Springs award by the U.S. Local Business Association. Why do you think this venue was deserving of such an award?

A: It was our desire to take the amphitheater and mold it into something that had not been done before. With our green initiatives, we have been able to create a nationally recognized plan for helping with the environment.

Q: What is a Rock Star Pass and why is it worth the $500 it sells for?

A: In a great economic savings move, we have created a way for those music lovers to have the capability of enjoying a full season of shows for a very reasonable rate. This great package also includes parking and access to our VIP club.

Q: Are there any future developments at Sandstone?

A: We are excited this year … to welcome the Great American Barbecue. This has been a long-standing event, taking place at the Woodlands, and now it will be making its home here at Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone. It is a three-day event over the Memorial Day holiday and features not only the wonderful cooking competitions, but daily music events on our main stage, kids areas around the venue and other great entertainment events.
