Haunted High School event raises more than $1,500

The Haunted High School event, held throughout the month of October in the 1918 Building, raised $1,504.70 for youths who can’t afford summer recreation fees.

The event was organized by Parks and Recreation Commission members Sharon Hicks, Andy Adkins and David Bass, as well as numerous volunteers. Hicks presented a check for the total amount earned to Mayor Clausie Smith during the last City Council meeting on Dec. 14.

All of the money will go toward Parks and Recreation scholarships.
