BLMS 8th-grade boys pick up victories

The Basehor-Linwood Middle School eighth-grade boys basketball teams swept Lansing and Clark.
On Thursday, Jan. 22, the Bulldogs faced Lansing. The junior varsity rolled to a 39-9 victory. Joe Levinson led the way with a 10-point performance. Matt Ogilvie and Lane Young each added 8, Seagar Smith had 5, Cameron Kennedy scored 3, Caleb Wilson and Jack Joyce each scored 2 and Trey Kincheloe added 1. Afterward, the varsity squad used a 13-point showing from Ben Johnson to squeak out a 29-27 victory. Tanner Garver and Caleb Hiss scored 5, Aaron Williams had 3, Alec Otting scored 2 and Drew Potter added 1.
On Monday the teams returned to the court against Clark. This time, the JV won, 23-12, behind 7-point performances from Kincheloe and Smith. The varsity rolled to a 50-36 victory as Johnson poured in 17 points.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
