Parks and Rec plans month of family activities
July 2, 2009
July is National Parks and Recreation Month. The following is a list of scheduled items in Bonner Springs related to this event for the month of July:
• July 2: City Band concert in Kelly Murphy Park
• July 3: Capture the flag scavenger hunt, with clues posted on bonnersprings.org. The winner receives a 10-punch pass to the Bonner Springs Aquatic Park.
• July 7: Customer Appreciation Day at the Bonner Springs Aquatic Park. Combo specials will be offered.
• July 9: TV Free Day, where residents are encouraged to get outdoors and go to a park.
• July 15: Take Me Fishing, where participants can enjoy a morning or evening of fishing at North Park Lake.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
