Area residents poured into the new Bonner Springs City Library on opening day yesterday with about one collective expression on their faces: a combination of wonder and amazement at the shiny, new and much larger haven of books and computers before them.

Area of County Road 1 to be closed for a month
July 13, 2009

County Road 1 /222nd Street in Leavenworth County will be closed beginning today Monday, July 13, south of Kansas Highway 32 and will remained closed for about one month to facilitate reconstruction of the intersection. Detour signs will be posted. This intersection is south of where the Kansas Turnpike Authority is building its first interchange in Leavenworth County for access to Interstate-70. County Road 1 / 222nd Street is currently closed between Tonganoxie and K-32.
