Bonner City Band performs memorable tunes tonight

The Bonner Springs City Band will present the seventh concert of the summer series at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Kelly Murphy Park. The ice cream social will be conducted by the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church.
The program is as follows: “Star Spangled Banner,” “Liberty Fleet,” “Disney Blockbusters,” “Amparito Roco,” “The Music Man,” “New York, New York,” “Washington Post,” “Arioso,” “Niobrara River Sketches,” and “On the Mall.”
Don Pooler and Nicki Nichols won gift certificates given in the weekly drawing and donated by Magnum Opus.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
