City Band to play patriotic selections at Bonner Blast

The program has been announced for the Bonner Springs City Band concert at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, as part of the Bonner Blast. The concert will end just as the fireworks are starting. Due to this special program, there will be no concert Thursday, June 25.
The program: “Ceremony of Allegiance,” “The Star Spangled Banner,” “National Emblem,” “America the Beautiful,” “Armed Forces Salute,” “Military Escort,” “Let Freedom Ring,” “To The Colors,” “Emblem of Freedom,” and “Stars and Stripes Forever.”
Winners of the prizes donated by Harrington Floral given in drawings at last week’s concert were: Trevon Thomas and Pat Cooper.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
