Library closes next Sunday

The new Bonner Springs City Library is expected to open Sunday, July 12. The current library will close this Sunday, June 28, and will remain closed until Saturday, July 11, to allow for moving items to the new building at 201 N. Nettleton.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at the new library. Following that, city officials and library staff will inaugurate the building with a reading ceremony, where they will each read out loud the first book ever to be read in the new library.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
