BSHS junior varsity girls roll to victory over MVHS

The Bonner Springs High School junior varsity girls basketball team climbed back to the .500 mark for the season when it defeated Mill Valley, 49-32, on Feb. 20.
The Bravettes (7-7) raced to a 14-5 lead by the end of the first quarter and led 32-13 at halftime. BSHS coach Nick Schuster credited his team’s zone defense as being the difference in the game because the Bravettes forced numerous turnovers and turned them into baskets at the other end of the floor.
Emily Wilson led BSHS with 14 points, Erica Wilson had 10, Meg Fowler scored 8, Kaleigh Crider had 6, Mayrissa Peterson had 4, Josie Freeby scored 3, Alexis Clark scored 2 and Irene Crump added 2.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
