Bird food, archery to be featured in workshops

March 19, 2009

One will be for the birds, the other for the archers on Saturday, March 21, when the Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Schlagle Library conducts two special workshops.

A birdfeeder kit workshop will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 21. The kit is a special wooden fruit holder that will attract Baltimore Orioles, as well as a variety of other songbirds, to your backyard and can be easily assembled. Cost of this workshop is $5 per feeder. The kits are limited so call (913) 299-2384 to register.

From noon to 3 p.m., staff will conduct a beginning archery workshop for ages 8 to adult. This program uses time-proven and state-of-the-art training techniques, philosophies and educational methods to provide a foundation to support a lifetime of archery enjoyment. Space is limited to 30, so call (913) 299-2384 to reserve your spot. All materials are provided for this free program.

The library is inside Wyandotte County Lake Park at 4051 West Drive, Kansas City, Kan.
