New Leavenworth Humane Society searches for logo

The Leavenworth County Humane Society, Inc., has recently been established and now the organization is looking for a logo.
Residents of Leavenworth County are asked to participate in a contest that will give the new organization a logo to be used on the Web site, letterhead, brochures and other educational materials.
The board members ask that the logo convey the group’s goals of preventing cruelty to animals through humane education and reducing companion animal overpopulation through sterilization.
Submissions must be received by the board no later than 5 p.m. May 1, at P.O. Box 226, Leavenworth, via e-mail at LvnCoHS@live.com or through the LCHS Web site, LCHSInc.org.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
