AutumnFest this weekend

The Edwardsville AutumnFest will be Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18-19.
Events kick off Friday with the barbecue contest and a concert from the M-80s Band from 8-11 p.m. in the parking lot of Mac’s Place, 580 S. 4th St.
Activities will continue throughout Saturday and will include a Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast at 7:30 a.m., a parade at 10 a.m., craft and food vendors, a car show and many activities for children.
Saturday entertainment will be provided by the Trialrider’s Motorcycle Show from 10:30 a.m. to noon, the Chainjun Tymes band from noon to 2 p.m., karaoke and deejay from 2-6 p.m., the British Invasion band playing Beatles covers from 6-8 p.m. and then British Invasion playing Led Zeppelin covers from 9-11 p.m. For more information, visit edwardsvilleks.org.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
