Five questions: Bikes showing off
September 17, 2009
Q: What is the annual bike show?
A: The bike show is an annual event that is held in the back parking lot of Kobi’s Bar and Grill. In the past years, one needy family has been picked to receive the proceeds. They are usually a family with a disabled or terminally ill child. The bike show is an opportunity for motorcycle enthusiasts to attend and show off their bikes.
Q: What entertainment will be available?
A: This year we will have two live bands performing in the back parking lot, Dru and the Geezers, 3-7 p.m., and Villains Dance, 8 p.m. to midnight. We will be holding a calendar shoot to photograph the show bikes with the ladies of their choice. The calendar will then be published, and the proceeds will go to Vaughn-Trent. We will also have a burnout pit for those who want to make their bikes scream, along with promo girls from Miller, Monster, Bud, Coors Light, Jack Daniels and Jagermeister.
Q: How will the bike judging work?
A: The classes to be judged will be Twin Cam, EVO, Shovel, Sportster, Touring, Chopper, Custom, Special Interest, Antique and Metric. The bikes will be judged on paint, engine, chrome, electrical, upholstery and cleanliness. There will be four to five judges.
Q: What is the fee to register a bike?
A: The fee to register your bike is $10, and admission is free.
Q: Why did you decide to donate the proceeds to Vaughn-Trent this year?
A: We decided on Vaughn-Trent this year because in years past we have helped one needy family. Now there are so many more needy families in our community. Demand is going up, but the funds coming in are not. In order to make a difference, we wanted to contribute to the Community Services. This way we know the money will go to people in our community.
