Kayettes plan Powder Puff football game fundraiser

Kayettes, the Bonner Springs High School chapter of the Kansas Association of Youth (KAY) organization, will participate in the annual Powder Puff football game at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at David Jaynes Stadium.
The freshmen and seniors women will take on the junior and sophomore women. The senior men will provide support as the game’s cheerleaders. Admission to the game is $4.
The Kayettes goal is to serve the community with previous projects including making baby blankets for Project Linus, holiday decorations for the local nursing homes, sponsoring a girl in Africa, purchasing livestock through Heifer International and the annual Vaughn-Trent food drive. The Powder Puff game provides the club funds to make such projects possible.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
