WineFest to offer selections from around the world

The 2nd Annual Village West WineFest will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at Chateau Avalon Hotel, located in the Legends at Village West shopping district at 701 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan.
The event features more than 200 wines from around the world, more than 50 beers, and food selections from Kansas City restaurants. There will also be a basket auction, allowing attendees to bid on custom wine and gift baskets created by local organizations.
WineFest tickets must be purchased in advance at villagewestwinefest.com and are on sale for $50 individual and $100 VIP with proceeds going to KC Cause, a local charity dedicated to giving back to Kansas City.
Entertainment will be ROBE on the main stage and Brandon Gerken as acoustic guitarist in the VIP lounge.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
