BSHS swimmer Dubin is county champ

The Bonner Springs boys swimming team turned in a second-place finish Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Wyandotte County Championships at Turner High School.
Turner placed first with 113 points, BSHS was second with 93 and the Sumner Academy/Washington combined squad took third with 58.
Tyler Dubin was the lone Brave to capture an individual county championship. He placed first in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.29 seconds. In addition, he placed second in the 100 backstroke in 1:15.57. Both times were personal records.
Dubin also was a member of the second-place 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams.
Blaine Edmondson turned in a solid performance with a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle in a personal-best 2:13.91 and another runner-up finish in the 500 freestyle (6:17.99). He also joined Dubin on the two relay teams that placed second.
The Braves returned to the pool Wednesday. Results were unavailable at press time.
