New Spanish class promises interactive learning

A three-week Community Spanish I class will be offered at Kansas City Kansas Community College beginning Monday, Feb. 22.
The six-session class will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday through March 10 at KCKCC’s West State Plaza.
Instructed by Stephanie Marquez, the interactive class will equip participants with the skills and confidence to communicate more effectively by learning and actively practicing basic grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation to greet, meet and even assist Spanish speakers in the community.
Tuition is $85 or $80 for Club 45 members and includes all materials.

The postal service is cutting back hours at some rural post offices. How often do you go to the post office?
“For my own personal use, I only go a couple times a year to mail gifts, usually around Christmas and family birthdays. At that time I usually buy a couple books of stamps that last for most of the year! For professional use, I go a couple times a month to check our PO Box.”
