Bravettes fall in regular-season finale

Basehor — Bonner Springs knew it had to play well if it was going to hang with Basehor-Linwood on Friday night.

The Bravettes put forth one of their most inconsistent efforts of the season and fell, 54-32, at BLHS.

The Bravettes surely did not know what hit them in the first period as they spotted the Bobcats a 17-2 lead. They put together a stretch in the second quarter to get within 11 by halftime, but it was not enough. BSHS got very little production out of its front court and the Bravettes had no answer for junior center Megan Bergstrom for the Bobcats.

Bergstrom had seven blocks and poured in 27 points—15 in the second half.

Erica Smith and Cassady Holloway scored nine points apiece to lead Bonner Springs. Yessenia Hernandez and Meg Fowler each added four.

The Bravettes will learn their Class 5A substate seeding on Saturday.
