Three armed robbers strike Dollar General

Two men have been charged in a weekend robbery at the Bonner Springs Dollar General, 120 Oak St. A third suspect was still at large as of Wednesday.
Akio Love, 18, and Kevin Dearinger, 18, both of Kansas City, Kan., have been arrested and charged in the robbery, which took place at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Lt. Rick Schubert with the Bonner Springs Police Department said three men entered the Dollar General and showed at least one gun to the cashier requesting money . A second Dollar General employee and several customers were also present at the time.
Schubert said he was unsure how much money was taken, but said the robbers fled upon receiving the money. No one was injured during the robbery.
A vehicle description was given to law enforcement following the robbery. Schubert said the vehicle containing the three men was spotted by the Edwardsville Police Department.
The vehicle fled from the Edwardsville police, and a short pursuit occurred that ended when the vehicle crashed at Kansas Highway 32 and 78th Street.
Love and Dearinger were taken into custody at the scene of the crash and a third man escaped from police.
The Bonner Springs Dollar General location has video surveillance cameras, which Schubert said captured the three men during the robbery. However, Schubert said no information about the third man is being released at this time.
No Dollar General employees would comment on the incident.
