Workshops to highlight ethics, communication

Mental Health America of the Heartland’s series of January workshops continues with a workshop focusing in on professional ethics in social and medical services. The workshop will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, in the Conference Center, Kansas City Kansas Community College, 7250 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan.

The presenter for this workshop will be Paul Malloy, who has worked as a school social worker, university instructor, adolescent and family counselor and drug and psychiatric social worker before starting his own private practice in Overland Park in 1990.

A workshop on powerful, non-defensive communication will be led by Jason Brensdal, who has worked for more than 25 years in the communication and healthcare fields.

The workshop will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, in the Old Mission United Methodist Church, 5519 State Park Road, Fairway.
