Wyandotte County Open accepting registrations

Entries are now being accepted for the longest running tournament of its kind in Kansas City — the 34th annual Wyandotte County Open.

The event will take place Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 7-8, at Sunflower Hills Golf Course. The tournament is open to all Wyandotte County residents and patrons of Sunflower Hills. Registration is limited to the first 210 entries.

There will be six flights for men and two for women with numerous special prizes, including closest to the hole on all three par 3 holes, a longest drive competition on No. 10 and a longest putt contest. A $100 gift certificate to the Sunflower Hills Pro Shop will be awarded to the golfer with the closest shot on No. 16 on Saturday.

The entry fee is $90 and includes all greens fees, a tee package, a hot dog lunch and a Sunday dinner. Tee times will become available Aug. 5.
