Wyandotte County Lake opening postponed

Previously scheduled to open Saturday, March 6, the Wyandotte County Lake’s opening has been postponed until Saturday, March 13, because of temperatures causing the lake to freeze.

The lake is available for fishing and boating and the March 13 date also applies to other fishing lakes in the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, including Pierson Lake.

The Wyandotte County Lake’s opening day breakfast at Davis Hall and the afternoon fish fry have also been postponed until March 13.

It is still possible this newly scheduled date may have to be postponed further if the freezing temperatures continue.
