Reception honoring retiring golf superintendent to be this weekend

Long-time Sunflower Hills golf course superintendent Frank Barthol is retiring, and to honor him a reception will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 13, in the Sunflower Hills clubhouse, 6742 Riverview Ave.
The event is tied in with the first golf event of the year, which will take place Saturday morning. Those wishing to sign up to play must do so no later than today, March 11. The tourney will be played regardless of weather, but it is not necessary to play to take part in the reception.
