Basehor-Linwood High School homecoming king candidates were Quentin Holmes, Travis Fouts and Jackie Kimlin. Queen candidates were Jessica Fish, Jeni Purtee and Jackie Horn.
25 Years Ago, Oct. 3, 1985
Bonner Springs homecoming queen candidates were Kathleen Stephans, Tonya Ferrell and Bridget Greer. King candidates were Pat Pickert, Mike Means and Al Cummings.
50 Years Ago, Sept. 29, 1960
Bonner Springs High School had new band uniforms. The band marched at the annual Kansas University band day. It also participated in the Argentine Activities Association parade.
100 Years Ago, Sept. 29, 1910
Bonner Springs High School formed a baseball team and was seeking games against surrounding schools.
Plans were announced for a new city park when John McDanield and his wife, Ellen, signed a deed conveying land to the city.
Imri Zumwalt, editor of The Chieftain, wrote an editorial complaining about low attendance at local churches. He urged people to return to the pews.
