State Grange honors Ag Hall
The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame recently received the Kansas State Grange’s Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award.
Cathi Hahner, the center’s executive director, was on hand to receive the award, which was presented Friday, Sept. 24, at the 139th Kansas State Grange Convention in Emporia.
According to Kansas State Grange President Roger Bostwick, this is only the second time the recipient of the Agriculture Award hasn’t been an individual. In 1993, the award was given to the Kansas State Board of Agriculture.
Individual recipients of this year’s award include Ray Teagarden, past master of the Kansas State Grange and chairman of the National Grange Executive Committee. Teagarden was awarded in part due to his efforts in selecting the site of the Ag Hall of Fame sits on.
The Ag Hall of Fame celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
