3 area authors to visit Bonner library

September 9, 2011

The Friends of the Library will play host to an author series over the months of September, October and November at the Bonner Springs City Library.

During the event, published authors from throughout the area will visit the library to give a talk on books they’ve written and to sign copies.

Kicking off the series will be a visit from Thomas Fox Averill, author of “The Slow Air of Ewan McPherson,” “Secrets of the Tsil Café” and “What does Kansas Mean to Me?” Averill’s visit will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18.

Jeanne Glidewell, Bonner Springs author of the Lexie Starr cozy mystery series and the recently published “Soul Survivor,” will visit at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16.

The final talk in the series will be given by Nancy Pickard of Johnson County, who is author of the Jenny Cain and Marie Lightfoot mystery series, as well as the work, “The Scent of Rain and Lighting,” among others. Pickard will visit the library at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20.

The series is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided. Books written by the authors will be on sale during their visit, which will also include book signings.
