Alliance is recipient of $13,500 grant

Alliance Against Family Violence, of Leavenworth, has been awarded a $13,500 state grant for its victims’ service programs.

The grant will be used to fund staff in providing advocacy services to victims of crime. The funds will also be used for rent and other costs associated with providing these services.

“We are thankful for the many organizations throughout Kansas that provide essential services to crime victims in their time of need,” said Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt in announcing the grant. “These funds will help enable these key partners to continue serving victims in their communities.”

Funds for this project were awarded from the State Crime Victims Assistance Fund, along with a special allocation from the State General Fund authorized earlier this year by the Kansas Legislature.

The Attorney General’s Office Victims Services Grants Program this year awarded nearly $3 million in grants to local and state crime victim assistance organizations.
