BSHS girls soccer tries to adjust after 7-0 loss
After starting the season 3-0, the Bonner Springs girls soccer team met its first setback on Monday, losing 7-0 to Shawnee Heights.
Coach Mike Moulin put Yessenia Hernandez, who started in goal, on the field in the second half with the Braves down 3-0, but Shawnee Heights proved too much, scoring another four in the second.
The Braves’ three victories include wins against Ottawa and Gardner-Edgerton at home. Against Gardner-Edgerton,
Allie Ledbetter scored twice and Hannah Hunt contributed a goal.
Moulin said the Braves are relatively young this season and each of the Braves’ first four games has provided opportuni- ties to groom Bizzell, a first-time goalie, for the latter portion of the season. Meanwhile, Moulin indicated that he’d like his team to improve its first-touch proficiency.
The Braves returned to play on Wednesday at Kansas City Christian Schools. Results were not available at press time.
