School board selects concrete contractor in special meeting

The USD 204 Board of Education had a special meeting Friday to award a bid for the construction of concrete bases to support the new bleachers at the Bonner Springs High School football stadium and track.
The 10-minute meeting took place at 3 p.m. with board members Ray Cox, Pat Welicky, David Pierce and Tim McGinnis in attendance.
A motion was made by Welicky, seconded by McGinnis to accept the bid of Baker Construction, Inc. in the amount of $93,000, and authorize the President of the Board to execute any required documentation.
The board called the special meeting to approve the bids to keep construction on schedule and get the bleachers installed before the start of the school year.
