Luke Jennings, 10, swings a hula hoop while wearing beach attire at Basehor United Methodist Church's Vacation Bible School on Tuesday. In this relay competition at the VBS's games station, competitors had to put on a beach costume, swing the hula hoop, then take the costume off as fast as they could. The theme of the weeklong event is "Operation Overboard."

Basehor United Methodist Church's 2012 Vacation Bible School, with the theme "Operation Overboard" is this week. The 117 children attending are spending each morning rotating between different activity stations, playing games, making crafts, doing science experiments and more.
